I'm not aware of any youth program anywhere that contributes more to the training for future leadership and to give constructive activity to young people than 4-H

Dear Supporter,

A little about 4-H:

4-H is a wonderful program for youth which leads to academic success, self confidence, leadership, responsibility, problem solving and communication skills. The Texas 4-H programs are available to all youth from funding that comes from National, State and County government as well as local support.

A little about our club:

Members of Harris County 4-H Gaited Drill Team, a 4-H Chartered Club, participate in the Horse Project. Our members have the opportunity to participate in the Gaited Drill Team, the Bayou City Riding Center program, horse judging, and horse quiz bowl. Drill team participants ride gaited Paso Fino horses, and are entrusted with the care, conditioning and training of their mounts. In addition, they write and choreograph equestrian drill routines, choose and mix music, and create costumes for their drill routines. Bayou City Riding Center participants can ride any type of horse and learn the equestrian discipline of their choice. The 4-H extension has superb curriculum that teaches horse judging and horse quiz bowl. These fantastic opportunities enrich our members with valuable life skills as well as forming lasting friendships.

Our big, big plans:

We are delighted to offer another year of the Horse Project in Harris County, Texas! We have a fabulous year planned! This year, the children plan to participate in the 2016 Pasadena Rodeo Parade and the 2017 Go Texan Parade. The first drill competition for our Gaited Drill Team participants is the Central Texas Drill Competition in October. The drill rider will also have the opportunity to participate in Camp Saddle Sores, Drill of the Pines, Texas Open Regional Drill Team Competition and the National USEDA “Super Ride” Drill Competition. The Bayou City Riding Center participants have a host of show to attend, including the District 9 Horse Show and the 4-H State Horse Show. To help unwind, we will have a little fun with trail and beach rides!

How you can help:

Our members are involved in fundraising; however, contributions from donors and sponsors are essential for our success! Each member projects to spend approximately $3,500.00 this 4-H year on their project animal and events. Will you help us achieve our goals by sending a donation or by becoming a sponsor?

Yours in 4-H,
